07-15-2008

We've released our July software update for Thought Holder, and there are quite a few new features. Check the post on Debuggery, our development blog, for more info.

Images and Screencasts

06-03-2008

The add image buttonThis week we rolled out a some minor improvements to Thought Holder, including a way to add images using our html editor. Currently, Thought Holder does not allow you to upload image files for use in your books and contacts. However, you can use the image button to insert images that you already have online (for example, images from Flickr or another online photo gallery). Use the image button in the editor to bring up the Image insert dialog, or search the Thought Holder help for "images."

We've also put up a screencast to help you get started with Thought Holder, with more to follow.

What's up next at Twelve Foot Guru?

05-14-2008

After completing Thought Holder, Artemis and Hermes, you'd think we would want to take a break for a minute, but we still have a lot left to do. The last two projects in our small business suite are up next:

Demeter

Demeter is our up and coming invoicing system. Having used several "small business" financial packages before, we found that all we really wanted was a way to track billable items, hours, and outstanding balances for our clients. We just wanted something simple and flexible. We also wanted a client-side interface where clients could log in and view past items and outstanding invoices. No luck. So, we decided to build it ourselves.

Pantheon

Pantheon is our way of bringing all these tools together. Having four outstanding tools is great, but the next step is to provide a single interface to them all, plus a way to share data between them. Do you want to close a ticket in Artemis and have Demeter bill the client for it? No sweat! How about adding a call log in Thought Holder and having it append the call log to a ticket in Artemis? Easy as clicking a button! Want to use Artemis to manage your Hermes editorial workflow? How about Demeter adding notes to books or contacts in Thought Holder when you invoice a client? That is Pantheon.

Keep an eye out here for updates as we move along in development of these new tools.

Thought Holder officially released!

05-14-2008

After several months in beta, and two complete UI rewrites, Thought Holder is now officially released to the public:

Thought Holder allows you to create books and contacts which serve as collections for all kinds of information. Each book or contact can contain notes, terms, call logs and links. Books and contacts can also be linked together, providing a flexible network for all of your information.

Thought Holder also gives you a powerful system of sharing so that you can grant access to your information without losing control of it. When you share information with friends in Thought Holder, you can specify who has the ability to read, comment, make additions, edit and share your information.

Using Thought Holder you can collaborate and share ideas, keep track of projects, record processes, store plans and much more. Small business people can use Thought Holder to create their own internal knowledge management systems and preserve valuable intellectual capital.

The Gurus Appearing at Startup Riot

05-09-2008

On May 19th, we will be attending the Startup Riot, presenting our company to the Atlanta startup community for the first time. It's a pretty neat event, 80-odd startups, each with three slides and three minutes to present, plus lots of networking time in between.

As we're looking to expand quite a bit over the next year, we hope that events like this will provide us with an opportunity to meet, and get to know, some of the talented people in our community. If you have a chance to go, be sure to stop one of us and say "hi."
